چکیده
The resin of Canarium strictum Roxb. is used for rheumatism and asthma; the bark as a mosquito repellent. major compounds in are triterpenoids, but no studies have been performed on bark, this study investigated economically important resource. Ten folk healers were interviewed about their medicinal uses C. strictum. Resin extracted with dichloromethane followed by methanol using accelerated solvent extraction. extracts fractionated different chromatographic methods, isolated identified NMR spectroscopy GC–MS. DPPH radical scavenging, 15-lipoxygenase inhibition, effects nitric oxide (NO) production LPS-activated dendritic D2SC/I cells toxicity against Artemia salina nauplii. Traditional to treat colds, airway afflictions rheumatoid arthritis. α-Amyrin β-amyrin constituents extract. From stem procyanidins, gallic acid, methyl gallate, scopoletin, 3,3′-di-O-methylellagic acid 4-O-α-arabinofuranoside elephantorrhizol (3,3′,4′,5,6,7,8-heptahydroxyflavan) identified. By GC–MS, α-amyrin acetates, lupeol, taraxasterol Radical inhibitory activity inhibition NO was observed from extracts, towards nauplii found. Triterpenoids procyanidins respectively. high content triterpenoids might contribute anti-inflammatory give rationale widespread usage India.
